San Diego County Fair!

Tonight I went to the San Diego County Fair with my friend, Kevin. It was down in Del Mar, at the grounds of the racetrack where the horse races will be starting up soon.

The first thing we did? Visit the Star Trek Exhibition!!! So cool! 

We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, so this is the best I could do :(

They had lots of props and costumes from all the different Star Trek series and films, as well as a model of the set of the bridge from The Original Series. They also had one of those machines with the claw that drops down and you try to win a prize -- this one was filled with Tribbles!

Next, we wound up at pig races. It was really adorable. They have different races for the pigs based on their age. Surprisingly, they run really fast! The reason? At the finish line, sitting on a plate, is a single Oreo. And they all want it.

Probably the most adorable thing, though, was a swimming pig named Swifty.

This is not a very good picture, but an Oreo awaits on the far side of that water. It took that guy a few moments to convince Swifty to jump in, but when he did, he was to the other side (and that cookie was gone) in a flash!

This was a game where you have a stick with a string hanging off it, and on the end of the string is a ring which you have to get around the neck of a beer bottle which is laying on its side and stand the beer bottle up. IMMPOSSSIBBBLLLLLE!!!! I'm serious.

We went on some cool rides, like the Gravitron and some other crazy spinning upside-down stuff, as well as the ferris wheel. We also saw a woman almost get knocked out by a full water bottle dropped by some kid on a ride 50 feet above. She ran to "get the police". I wonder what wound up happening.

Aaaand here's my new pal, Del (as in Del Mar, which is where the fair was).
