I was bored waiting for Chris to get his hair cut.
He is deploying to Afghanistan tomorrow (February 27th -- which is probably today for most of you reading this).

No, it's just a mural. Twentynine Palms is called "An Oasis of Murals", I recently learned.
Even those tan-colored "parts" of the building (that look like they're jutting out and casting shadows) are just painted.

The entire mural is supposed to look like an unfinished mural with a guy (presumably the painter who has not finished the job) sleeping on scaffolding and the cow in front of it. So, the guy and the scaffolding and the cow are all painted to look 3D (i.e., they cast shadows on the unfinished mural).
