This afternoon I went hiking again with my friend, Chris, and his dog, Lita, at Black Rock Canyon. This time, we went to Warren Peak.
On the left, cholla (pronounced "choi-yuh") cactus -- you can see the yellowish poison on the tips of the spines. And on the right, some sort of hallucinogenic plant that I don't know the name of.
Warren Peak. It does not look impressive in this photo, but if you had been there, you'd know how much higher it is than it looks.
