Ragnar Relay SoCal

So, this weekend, I ran a Ragnar Relay race. Some of you know that Pam and I did one of these in the Adirondacks last year. It's basically a race that is about 200 miles long, and you have a team that you share the milage with, so everyone runs a portion of the 200 miles. The one that I just did went from Huntington Beach down to San Diego. We ran from Friday morning until Saturday afternoon. Oh yeah! And our team name was "The Wolfpack" (most of them were from Vegas -- if you don't get it, you probably haven't seen The Hangover).

The start in Huntington Beach.

The people with whom I shared a van. From the left: Dana, Mike, Me, Phalon, Chris and Jason.

I was the first runner on our team.

Team in action, handing off the bracelet.

Nap time in the grass at Elsinore Middle School.

Running again.

There was so much support for Boston!

Nighttime exchange. Pammy, doesn't it bring back memories?

Reflective vests unite! Mine is obviously in working condition.

Beautiful sunrise sky.

Near Torrey Pines.

Van 1 is done!

The finish in downtown San Diego.

Now that we got all that running out of the way.... it's Party Time!

There was a race after-party on a roof -- in the distance is the bridge to Coronado.

The Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego -- very cool!!

    1. Yes lol, I have to say, being able to sprawl out on a lawn in the middle of the day was a nice treat, as opposed to being stuck in a van trying to stay warm and dry! It's funny -- people on this team were also afraid to run in the night. I don't get it!! We actually scared one of our teammates because we were standing around in the dark waiting to cheer him on as he passed, and he thought we were a bunch of strangers who were going to jump him. Hey, it could happen!
