Cinco de Mayo 10k on Cuatro de Mayo

Today, I ran a "Cinco de Mayo" 10k trail race at Lake Poway, which is in San Diego. I did not really read the race description and was surprised to find myself running up many many many hills. Or was is one long horrible hill? Whatever the case, it was a really tough race, but it was so fun! I'm really happy with my performance and had a great time.

Why is that girl looking at me like that? Maybe "the secret" is about me...

This is hard.

Done!

The elevation info from my watch. See, they have you start relatively flat, then send you into crazy downhills, out of which you must climb even higher than where you started. Then down again, and then you have to climb back out. And it ends with an uphill. Thanks.

Mariachi band!

Later, I met up with Maria and her friends, Nara and Brandt, and we went to Torrey Pines and walked on the beach and hiked a little bit. It was SO pretty, but my memory card was out of space so I only took two pictures.

Then, I met up with my friend Uly and his friends to go to a casino to watch the Mayweather v. Guerrero boxing match. Uly and I couldn't figure out why they wanted to go to a casino, but hey, whatever. Unfortunately, the only decent place in the casino to watch the fight was also hosting a country/line dancing night. So, we watched the fight country-style.
