San Francisco

Yesterday morning, we woke up in San Jose and drove up to San Francisco because we had tickets to the Giants-Orioles game at AT&T Park!

At the train station and on the train! Bayshore (one word) station in San Francisco.

There's a slide inside the Coke bottle in the right picture

These people kayak around the stadium (it's on the San Francisco Bay) with targets for homers.

The view from our seats. Bleachers :) We had a lot of fun and met some really nice people. One of them gave me a Giants cap!

Just outside the park, right on the water.

After the game, we walked over to Anchor Brewing Company…

…and they were closed! But this guy was out in the parking lot grilling steaks, so Jordan talked to him and he radioed to someone that we were from New York and looking for a tour. So we got a private tour of this really awesome brewery and got to drink really delicious beer. Talk about lucky!

We left the brewery and passed this bar, which I don't think I will ever remember the name of, and we had some drinks here and listened to the live band.

We headed to a few more bars and then wound up at a Pupuseria, where they make pupusas -- an El Salvadorian dish which is essentially a corn cake stuffed with meat/cheese/beans/etc. This was originally introduced to me a few years back by my friend, Guillermo, and I have had them many times since because they are SO DELICIOUS. This place did not disappoint (except for maybe the music)!

This morning, we woke up and went to breakfast, and then to Golden Gate Park.

Alcatraz in the distance

Full House house. They painted the door black :(

Hilly San Fran

Our final endeavor in San Francisco was to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately, when you wait until late afternoon/early evening to do this, you wind up walking through a cloud, and it is cold, windy and wet.

That's one big cable…

In front of the Golden Gate Bridge. I swear it's behind us.
Also I think I look a lot like my mom here.

We left San Francisco and headed north to stay overnight in Yreka, a city which lies about 20 miles south of the California-Oregon border.
